Purposes
Reach: Good Shepherd hosts various events and activities each year that are designed to introduce students to our programs and the open the door for them to get involved. Through these lock-ins, camps, retreats and activities, we hope to engage each and every student that we meet. These are great opportunities for students to invite their friends to fun, safe, and friendly atmosphere.
Connect: We have small groups that are designed to help our students grow closer to each other and stronger in their faith together as members of Christ's body. These groups meet regularly and are currently divided by age and gender. To find out when your group meets, visit our youth calendar page.
Grow: During the year we have Study Groups and other Spiritual Growth Classes that meet on Sunday mornings and are designed to help students grow into a deeper relationship with God and understanding of their faith. Currently, we meet during the 10:50 a.m. Worship Hour on Sunday Mornings downstairs in the Youth Center.
Serve: We believe that our youth are full participants in the life of the church and therefore encourage them to be involved not only in the student ministries here but also in the life of the entire congregation of Good Shepherd. Our students help to serve that congregation through special projects, participation in church events and giving back to the community through serving others. Honor: We believe that worship is more than just showing up to church on a Sunday morning but that it is really honoring God in our everyday lives. Our worship times at 9:30 and 10:50 on Sunday mornings are designed to help us grow, experience God and facilitate a lifestyle of worship.
