Spotlight on Ministry

This week the spotlight shines on:

Gail & Bill Chamlee

This couple is the epitome of Southern charm.

You’ll see them regularly as greeters / ushers at the 10:50 Service of Worship. On the first Sunday of each month they cheerfully leave the comfort of their home to unlock the church and make coffee available in time for the 8:30 worshippers, then stay to lock up after  the last of our 10:50 worshippers is out the door. They are also providers of continental breakfasts on a regular basis.  Bill is an elder of the church having served actively from 1992-1994. If you haven’t had a chance to get to know them, seek them out. Their sweet Georgian accent is like comfort food to the ears.  Thank you Gail & Bill for all you do, and thanks to ALL of our Good Shepherd volunteers. We are more effective in “changing lives in Jesus Christ,” because you serve. Keep watching these bulletins. Next week’s spotlight could shine on YOU.

Parents of children ages four and older

We will continue to attend the 9:30 service. The children are dismissed to Sunday School as a group, but are encouraged to sit with their family. If you do not attend the 9:30 service, please leave your child with Terra or other authorized adult who will walk the  children to their class when dismissed. We believe this is a great opportunity for your child/children to experience praise and worship as well as connect with their church family.

HELPING HANDS

If you have simple needs at your home that can be addressed by a strong arm, a ladder-capable volunteer, or even a semi skilled crafts man, we’re here to help.

List your need on your Sunday response card or phone Deb at 918-333-1708.

Once your request is received, it will be forwarded to one of the ministry team members who will phone you to get a better idea of the need, and how best to meet it.

If you’re interested in being one of God’s helping hands, please let us know your area of expertise and we’ll put you in touch with people as needs arise.
